OCIs are eligible for AADHAAR Card registration provided they meet residency rules, meaning they have stayed physically in India for 182 days in last 12 months, before applying for new AADHAAR Card. New born OCI babies and OCI kids upto the age 5 are eligible for Baal AADHAAR Card printed in blue color, after they meet the residency rules.

How to Apply for AADHAAR Card for OCI

To apply for a new AADHAAR Card enrolment registration, OCI applicant must visit a nearby AADHAAR Card enrolment centre with the required supporting documents. At the AADHAAR Card enrolment centre, each OCI applicant has to fill a separate AADHAAR Card enrolment form 7 or 8 based on the applicant age, with requested details. For an adult OCI applicant above age 18, use AADHAAR Card application Form 7. In the AADHAAR Card enrolment form, the OCI applicant can only write his / her local Indian mobile phone number, international / non-Indian mobile numbers are not supported. The OCI applicant has to provide his / her local Indian address; international / non-Indian addresses are not supported. Once the filled up form and the supporting documents are in order, each OCI applicant's biometric (iris scan, fingerprints scan and photograph) and demographic data will be captured electronically and sent to the central data processing servers.

After arriving in India, an OCI applicant has to wait for 182 days so that his residency status changes to resident Indian and only then he/she can apply for AADHAAR Card enrolment. OCI applicant must hold a valid foreign Passport as well as a valid OCI card as Proof of Identity document to apply for AADHAAR Card. They also must provide a Proof of Address document (such as utility bill / rental agreement) and proof of staying 182 days in the last 12 months. For OCIs, Email ID is mandatory in the AADHAAR Card enrolment form. How to Apply Baal AADHAAR Card for OCI Kids below age 5

OCI kids below age 5 are eligible to get a blue colored AADHAAR Card, called Baal AADHAAR. The child has to visit a nearby AADHAAR Card enrolment centre in India, accompanied by father / mother / guardian, with the required supporting documents. For every OCI applicant, including OCI kids below 5 years of age, a valid foreign Passport as well as a valid OCI card are necessary as Proof of Identity and Date of Birth certificate as Proof of Relationship document, to establish the relationship with the accompanying father / mother / guardian. The accompanying father / mother / guardian have to submit their own AADHAAR Card or EID number, if the OCI child below age 5 is introduced to AADHAAR Card by them. The accompanying father / mother / guardian has to authenticate on behalf of the OCI child and also give consent for enrolment of the minor child by signing the enrolment form. For OCI kids below age 5, use AADHAAR Card application Form 8. OCI Kids below age 5 are also required to submit proof of staying 182 days in the last 12 months. At the AADHAAR Card enrolment centre, fill separate AADHAAR Card enrolment forms with requested details for each applicant OCI kids below age 5. Once the filled up form and the supporting documents are in order, each OCI child applicant's facial photograph and demographic data will be captured electronically and sent to the central data processing servers. For kids below 5 years age, iris scan and fingerprints scan are not captured, only facial photograph is taken. These OCI children will need to update their biometrics of iris scan, fingerprints scan and facial photograph, when they turn 5 and 15. Intimation to this effect will be mentioned in the original AADHAAR Card letter.

How to Apply AADHAAR for a OCI Minor Kids between age 5 and 18

OCI minor child between age 5 and 18 who wishes to enroll in a new AADHAAR Card, has to visit a nearby AADHAAR Card enrolment centre in India, accompanied by father / mother / guardian, with the required supporting documents. For every OCI applicant, including OCI minor kids between age 5 and 18 years of age, a valid foreign Passport as well as a valid OCI card are necessary as Proof of Identity and Date of Birth certificate as Proof of Relationship document, to establish the relationship with the accompanying father / mother / guardian. The accompanying father / mother / guardian have to submit their own AADHAAR Card or EID number, if the OCI minor child is introduced to AADHAAR Card by them. At the end of the enrolment process, each OCI applicant will be given an acknowledgement slip containing a unique Enrolment ID and Date & Time Stamp. Keep this AADHAAR Card enrolment acknowledgement slip securely as it will be required to check AADHAAR Card enrolment status, collect the approved AADHAAR Card sent via India Post as well as to download e-AADHAAR Card online. Verify the data in the AADHAAR Card enrolment acknowledgement slip carefully to make sure all the data are captured correctly.
